Weaponizer's resident occult blogger Ian 'Cat' Vincent returns with the intorduction to a season of essays on cult films, all exploring ideas of consciousness and reality. Some old favourites and well-known films are used as jumping-off points to explore a very weird moment in cinema history; where many, many films seemed deternine to tip off the audience to the fact that reality might not be quite what it seems... ladies and gentlemen, welcome to 'The Mason Lang Film Club'... The first piece is an introduction to the main movies to be discussed, and features previews of the entire season.

“I see this weird stuff every time I watch a movie…”

Ever had that thing where a fictional character describes something about how they see the world, something most people consider strange or unusual, and they say it so aptly that you could have been saying that line yourself?

That’s exactly what happened when I read the above lines from the character Mason Lang, in Grant Morrison’s apocalyptic game-changer of a comic book The Invisibles. Because I’ve had that same problem for years.
