Tourettes is an enormously talented emcee / poet from Auckland. Coming up through the hip-hop battle scene, he turned away from rap for several years, concentrating on his uniquely self-lacerating, confessional performance poetry.
A recent and triumphant return to hip-hop yielded his debut album, 'Who Says You Can't Dance To Misery?', a collection of tracks which establish Tourettes as a unique voice, screaming on the margins of New Zealand's traditionally R&B-heavy, gangster-lite rap scene.
Here is the video for 'Letting Go' - one of the album's more reflective, mellow cuts. Check out the album, and start the campaign to get Tourettes to come and perform in the UK.
