Jem Stansfield is one of the presenters of the BBC's new pop science show, Bang Goes The Theory. In the first two episodes of the new show, which presents science in easy-to-digest, exploding chunks, Jem has built a vortex cannon capable of knocking down a brick wall, and a water-powered jetpack based on the Harrier jump jet. A veteran of Scrapheap Challenge, he made these things, in A-Team-like fashion, out of bits and bobs left lying around the BBC workshops. Which means he is TV's new Science Hero.
